Healing Animals with Reiki and Other Modalities
Have you ever had the thought that your animal is here for your growth as well as their own? How is it that when you were ill with something like the flu or even something more serious like cancer, or you had an emotional upset, a fight with your spouse or teenager and your cat or dog hovered around you or if they found you laying on the couch they climbed up and plopped down exactly on your heart or belly and just stayed there and went to sleep?
Many of us have not noticed or have forgotten we have friends in furry bodies who are so tuned into us that they even will sacrifice their own health and wellbeing for us. I have worked with animals as far back when I was just five years old – they were knocking on my door of awakening to their essence from an early age. I was so unhappy as a child, they were my comfort and best friends especially our Lassie dog Laddie.
I imagine you too have noticed this in your world as well and I would like to bring more awareness to the amazing benefits of really connecting deeply with our furry friends.

Animal Reiki Treatments
Reiki is ideal for animals because it is gentle and non-invasive. All animals intuitively respond to this positive healing energy and usually begin to relax within the first few minutes of a treatment whether we do the session in person or a long distance session.
In Person Reiki Treatments
Barbara offers in-person Reiki treatments in your home or barn, wherever your animal lives. This is especially beneficial for animals that can be skittish and uncomfortable in new surroundings. Each animal is unique. Barbara will determine whether the session is hands-on or conducted at a short distance away from your animal. In either case, the results bring a sense of peace and relief to the animal and to the human alike. Animals generally respond rather quickly to Reiki but for best results a minimum of three Reiki sessions are recommended for animals who are in chronic physical or emotional pain.
Distant Reiki Treatments
Reiki from a distance can be very effective and even preferred in some cases. It can be especially useful in emergency situations. Distant Reiki offers the same benefits as hands-on Reiki. It is an effective way to treat your animals when traveling is not possible or the animals are fearful of strangers or in emergency situations.
Animal Intuitive Readings
These sessions include Reiki and telepathic communication. Animals communicate through visual images, feelings, thoughts, ideas, and sensations. Sometimes these communications have words; sometimes they are accompanied by a strong sense just knowing. Animals are capable of communicating very complicated and deep ideas & feelings, and many communicate with great elegance.
Barbara “reads” the animal’s language and acts as a translator to help you understand your animal’s experience. When any of us feel understood, we relax, open up, and listen to new ideas. Barbara opens the door and gives you tools to use so you can fully participate in your animal’s life situation.
Animals can act as mirrors for us. For example, a cat that suddenly bites at his leg as if he has fleas (and has none) might be a reflection of unexpressed emotions that exist within that household. In many cases, our animals provide love and comfort as family members and when someone is stressed, the whole family feels the effects.
Note: While Reiki is a powerful healing system on its own, it should in no way be considered a substitute for veterinary care. Reiki complements all healing modalities.
