Animal Reiki Testimonials 2
Barbara’s intuitive gifts and compassionate approach have transformed and strengthened our relationship with each one of our dogs over the years. I believe that we learn more about ourselves with each pet who enters our lives and when that happens, the bond we share with them strengthens and grows.
We have had the pleasure of having Barbara do readings on several of our dogs over the years. When we first rescued our Ben and Jerry back in 2004, she gave us valuable information that helped us to integrate these precious boys into our home with our other dear dog Bailey and then learn how to help them grow and thrive.
Now that Jerry is almost 13 and experiencing some health issues, Barbara did another reading on him this past week. Her insight was so accurate and her use of the tapping technique (Emotional Freedom Technique) alleviated several issues that have been bothering him. What struck us is that her communication with Jerry shifted our perspective from frantically trying to hit on the right things that would help him, to working with him in partnership. This has created a space for a respectful and mutual communication exchange between us and this has brought us ever closer to him and our other sweet dog Fiona.
Just this past weekend, we hosted Barbara’s “The Heart of Communication ” animal class in our home. It was wonderful to share Barbara’s intuitive talents with our friends as she “walked in the paws” of everyone’s pets. What a unique and powerful experience it was to tune into and learn from each other’s pets in this way. We are
so thankful to Barbara for not only helping us to create a deeper bond with our Jerry and Fiona, but also for her sincere friendship.

I’ll never forget meeting Barbara for the first time. She came to meet a dog who was depressed and dejected after being in foster care for almost a year. He ran up to her, “talking” like I’d never heard him do before, as if to say, “Finally, someone who can understand me!” Through one session with him, this wonderful intelligent dog regained his self esteem and joy and was adopted in two weeks. That was six years ago. My journey with Barbara has been filled with lessons and gifts. She has traveled with me through many foster and rescued animals and transitions, illnesses and deaths of my own companion animals. In addition she has been a dear friend, wise healer, and teacher for me and my human family through Reiki and bodywork I highly recommend Barbara’s gifts for the two, three and four legged, no matter what they might need!

This has been the most satisfying animal communication experience I’ve had since Penelope (Smith)
And that was many years of other people ago. You are fantastic-your heart and soul and clarity and the way you got out of the way to let Bari through was the best. Thank you so much. I can tell, now everybody, Domino, cat, Shakti, cat and the Bundle, dog all want to talk with you! And they shall!
Much love and Light,
We had a session with you about two weeks ago. We have two cats and two dogs, but the most troublesome was Peabody our twelve year old cat who yowls all the time when he’s in the house and has been peeing on things in our bedroom. Clyde, another twelve year old cat of ours was spraying the corners of our bedroom as well, so we had to close off the bedroom as a result. We allow all our animals to go outside because we have a fenced yard, but Peabody has recently not been coming when called.
In addition to working with our cats, you also tuned in to Maggie our beloved Chow lab who is eleven year old and Molly, a Springer spaniel, who jumps on everyone. Everyone had some issue, but you addressed each one individually and tuned in accurately as you described their needs and wants rather than the whole group; so it wasn’t overwhelming for Laura or me. You also gave us tools to continue what we started during our session together. You asked Peabody to come when called, he does now, every single time! You asked him to wait until 6am to start yowling and he does just that now.
After you left, we opened the bedroom doors and no spraying! I even left the bedroom doors open when I went to work, a big test, and no spraying. You said that Clyde was feeling slighted by Peabody and wanted us to know he was royalty and wanted to wear something fancy on his neck; the next day I found some pretty beads and now he goes strutting around the house as if saying look at me!
Maggie wanted a walk every day and was emphatic! We are doing our best and take both dogs at the same time. You showed us how to work with Molly as well on her jumping issue. We especially liked the practical information that we could continue ourselves. Thank you, Barbara.

My sister’s cat of eighteen months was sneezing constantly like something had lodged in his nasal passages. I called Barbara. The vet xrayed and found nothing and prescribed antibiotics and suggested going to a specialist at a cost of $900…they would put a scope up his nasal passages. My sister has no such funds!
Barbara read Norman for me and said, “There is definitely something in there, but it is not a foxtail” (our worst fear), but suggested we put a drop of pure sesame oil in each nostril just to lubricate the area. The next day my sister phoned, Norman, after four months of sneezing and sometimes blood, sneezed a long blade of grass out his nose! They pulled it our completely and the next day he sneezed once more and ejected half of another blade of grass.
Thank you Barbara! On all past consults, you’ve been right, but you have saved my sister from needless expense and helped reassure her.

Thank you so much for the wonderful session last evening, it was very helpful. My husband and I are tuning into Colombo and the rich experience of our final days here together. Colombo already seems more spirit than physical. Today he and I took a walk and surveyed his domain and said good bye to this earthly beauty. I’ll let you know how our transition goes. So far he seems at peace and comfortable.
Love and blessings,
I have a kitten named Miles. He joined our house last year after the unfortunate demise of two of my cats after coyotes took over our neighborhood. Because of this unsafe condition in our neighborhood, I decided that the remaining cat, Mike and the new kitten Miles would be indoor cats only for their own protection. This worked out very well. Some time later, Miles now almost a year old, I came home late one night with my friend Tammy and realized Mike was with us but Miles was not around. After searching the house, I discovered the screen on one of the windows was broken; Miles must have gone through the window.
We searched for hours but didn’t find any sign of him. The nest day we were able to see scratch marks below the window where it was apparent that he was trying to climb back into the house. It broke my heart to think of Miles out in the woods for the first time in his life and that he actually had tried to get back in the house.
With help of Tammy and my partner Martha, we searched every day covering acres and acres of property. At the house we opened the window all the way up and created steps up to the window in case Miles came back when we were at work. Five days went by and there was absolutely no sign of Miles at all. We had checked all the neighbors, posted signs and went to the local shelter, but to no avail.
On the fifth day, Tammy mentioned our missing cat to a friend of hers. The friend told her that they had heard of a pet psychic in our area and suggested we contact her. That pet psychic is Barbara Mariano. We made that call and set up a phone conference so all three of us could talk together.
During the conversation, Barbara would step away from the phone at times and come back to tell us what she was feeling about Miles. One of the first things she said was that he is still alive but very scared; she could feel that his heart was racing. I was immediately relieved and dearly wanted to know where he was. Barbara went on to say that we would find him within fourteen days of when he left unless something was to attack him. She said that we would find him on the right side of our house and we would need to meet him half way. She also said that Miles was eating garbage and mice to sustain him, living in trees and coming down to hunt. He was also being kept away from our house by something. She didn’t think it was coyotes, and after a few minutes she said that it was another cat that was keeping him away. We do have a neighbor’s cat that adopted our house once the neighbors brought home a new dog, so we figured that must be the cat she mentioned. Barbara also gave us some visualization techniques to use while we searched for him. She had us envision him as a Clydesdale horse that was brave and strong and could break through barriers. She wanted us to imagine ourselves as a lighthouse, radiating in all directions so Miles could find us. It was very inspiring.
After that conversation with Barbara, there was a renewed search for Miles. We had talked to Barbara on Thursday. So Thursday night we searched far and wide but still no sign of him. We set out a plate of food as an offering to the neighbor’s cat. The next day the offering was gone, but no sign of Miles. That night we searched again. When Tammy left our house on Friday night, she thought she saw Miles across the street from our house, but it was dark and she wasn’t sure.
The next day we set out more food in the morning and later that day the food was gone and we heard him cry out. He was on our property, to the right of the house, just like Barbara had predicted. He was cowering down in a very overgrown area of the woods and as I approached him, he backed away, while Martha approached him from the other side. She was able to get closer to him and started to talk to him calmly using the language that Barbara had encouraged us to use. Martha talked to him about breaking through his fear just like a giant Clydesdale horse would do and if she took a step he could take one too. It was a stressful 10 minutes but she calmly talked to him the whole time. Finally they had met at the half way point (just like Barbara had said) and Miles was a t Martha’s feet. She was very careful not to scare him and then was able to pick him up.
Since she was in the middle of the bushes, she was able to hand him over to me and I immediately took him in the house; he was very hungry and thirsty but by evening he fell asleep on my lap. So after all we have a happy ending which we attribute to Barbara Mariano’s gift.

It was July and the box-sized waiting room of the local veterinary clinic was steamy, overrun with pets and people. I hardly noticed the woman sitting next to me; I was too concerned about the feral kitten I had left at home. He was not taking food from the eyedropper and I needed advice. But instead of making a sensible and time conserving phone call, I had impulsively decided to drop by. That impulse would alter my life forever. I don’t remember who started the conversation, but I certainly never imagined that the diminutive woman sitting next to me that day would become the catalyst for my complete transformation.
Barbara Mariano told me that she was a Reiki Master (a haling art with which I was unfamiliar). She also said she had the ability to communicate with animals. These notions lay way outside my comfort zone. To be polite, I asked a few more questions anyway. There was a down to earth quality and honesty about this woman that made me instantly comfortable in her presence. As we spoke some of my stereotypical notions about “spiritual fold” began unraveling. Out of curiosity more than interest, I asked her for a card, but never seriously believed that I would loose it.
Two days later, my kitten died and I was hammered with an intense grief that surprised me. The kitten had only been with me five days and didn’t feel that attached. I had experienced grief before but not like this. This grief had an almost impersonal quality. The lament of the world seemed to weigh down on my heart. Then for some reason, I called Barbara; I needed to see her. Under the pretense of having a healing session with my dog I met with Barbara. “What is this pain I’m sensing in your heart area, she asked? Before I could answer she asked if she could lay her hand on my heart. I nodded. Intense warmth emanated into my chest. The pain lightened. Barbara stopped and looked around. She seemed to be sensing something in the air. “You are surrounded by a brilliant light; I feel that it is the spirit of a powerful animal being that has just recently passed over.” “My kitten?” I gasped, stunned. Then stifling sobs, I mumbled something about my being responsible for his death. “No dear, “she said gently shaking her head, “Spirit, (that’s the name I keep sensing) came to you because you have lost your soul. His designated time on the physical plane was short. It was perfect, just as it was intended.”
What she said made sense because seventeen years earlier I had been attacked after an intruder broke into my house while I slept. During the incident I had a sense of separating from my body and had not returned. “You see, Barbara continued, animals come to us a teachers and sometimes carry our cross and show us the way back home. Their purpose is to mirror for us what it is we need to know, and she hesitated for a second, “sometimes, they choose to die so that we might live.” A cat, giving its life for me? It felt so strange and yet so right. “What about you, I said to Barbara, you seem to be a part of this somehow?”
“It’s really perfect isn’t it?” she signed a smile spreading across her face… Most people never really get the powerful lesson that the animal bring to them. My main purpose on this planet is to help people accept the lessons and healing that animal offers.

September 2014: I met Barbara when she was in CT this summer. She came to my house and visited with me and met my cat and 2 dogs.
In September, my cat, The Admiral, was in a crises situation. He was in obvious stress. He would sit at the water dish and just cry and yowl. I knew he was thirsty, but he couldn’t drink – or eat. This was Saturday evening. Monday morning, I brought him to the vet. He stayed at the vet for most of the day, as they put him under so they could examine his mouth and throat for any obstruction. Blood work was ok. They found nothing wrong. The vet sent him home and said if he wasn’t better by Friday, she would suggest putting him down. He’s 17. After work on Tuesday, he was gone and I thought he had gone home to spirit, but later that evening he came back. Still not able to eat or drink and crying through the night, so I wasn’t sleeping and was too stressed to be able to connect with him very well. I called Barbara the next morning and she connected with him. He was in a brief fight with another cat on Saturday and he got something out of whack that was pressing on a nerve. He was in great pain. Still had his sense of humor though! He said if he was his younger self, this never would have happened. Barbara worked with him with Reiki from CA and I worked with him with Reiki, plus I used a technique Barbara guided me through for his spine. I noticed a difference the next day. I also arranged to put his food within easy reach, so he didn’t need to jump up on his workbench/table. He ate and drank a bit. The next few days, when Barbara told me she would tune in to him and send Reiki, I would notice an improvement in his physical and mental state almost immediately – it was amazing how quickly he responded to the energy she sent him.
One of the doctors at my vet works with holistic methods and put me in touch with a pet chiropractor locally and she helped a lot with re-adjusting his spine. So, we had a great team working with him. The Admiral said it was his intention to stay until he was 21! He said – so if you girls can figure this out!… and he was working to heal himself too. He is more than he appears. He may have a cat body, but many of you know what I mean. He’s a bright spirit here with a purpose.
Within about 2 weeks, he was back to feeling well again. Without Barbara’s help, he may not have made it.
I am so thankful to Barbara for her gift of communication, her generosity and the healing gifts of Reiki and of her beautiful spirit. She is genuine. I felt immediately comfortable in her presence when I met her this past summer. And I’m so glad we connected! Thank you again, Barbara, for all your help! I have my friend still here with me!
